The European Business Awards (www.businessawardseurope.com) has announced today that V-CUBE is to represent Greece as a National Champion in the prestigious 2013/14 Awards programme. V-CUBE beat off stiff competition to be selected as a National Champion and will now compete for Ruban d'Honneur status in the next round of the competition. Final category Award winners will be unveiled in April 2014.

The European Business Awards, sponsored by RSM, Infosys, Millicom, BP Target Neutral and supported by UKTI, is an independent awards programme designed to recognise and promote excellence, best practice and innovation in the European business community. It is dedicated to raising the visibility and progress of companies who excel in delivering innovation twinned with successful commercial results whilst acting responsibly and positively affecting the social environment they operate in.

The Labors of Hercules received an A’ Design Award for it’s packaging design. Created by Matadog™ Design, previously awarded by prestigious competitions such as the Cannes Lions, Pentawards and many others, the packaging of The Labors of Hercules communicates all features of the game successfully, while making sure the end product is light and durable. Themed around the journey of the Greek mythology hero, Hercules, the game consists of four Collections of three Labors each. Each collection box was designed to perfectly fit three puzzles in a way that references the ancient Greek setting and keeps all pieces of the puzzle in place at all times.

Brief description at  A-Design Award and Competition of the challenges involved in designing a complex pattern puzzle.

The prestigious A’ Design Award & Competition awarded a silver award to Andreas Kiroglou, the creative mind behind Matadog™ Design, for the packaging of V-Sphere. Matadog™ Design, previously awarded by prestigious competitions such as the Cannes Lions, Pentawards and many others, came up with a creative solution that is light, efficient and embraces the puzzle’s spherical shape allowing the product to be viewed from all angles. The design solution consists of a premium - statue style - packaging comprised by a 2 piece paperboard base, a PET trasparent box and a vaccum part that locks the sphere in to the box, making sure it stays in place during transportation.

V-CUBE™ was given the honorary award of Exporting Startup Company for 2013 at the Greek Exports Awards 2013. The event was organized by the Greek Exports Forum which brings together some of the most important exporting companies in Greece, both already established and with a long history as well as new and upcoming like us.

Criteria for this recognition included the percentage of our exports, the number of countries we export to, the awareness around our brand and products as well as prior distinctions. The jury of the Greek Export Awards comprised of representatives from the Hellenic Bank Association, the Hellenic Foreign Trade Board, the National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce, the Athens Stock Exchange, the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Panhellenic Exporters Association, esteemed businesspeople and entrepreneurs as well as representatives from the public sector such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Development.

V-CUBE™ and Matadog Design, the 1st ever entrant from Greece, received a Gold Award in the Retail Packaging category of the 2011 Creativity International Awards.

Creativity International Awards is one of the longest running INDEPENDENT international advertising and graphic design competitions, running since 1970. V-CUBE™, through our designer team Matadog Design, took part in the 41st annual competition for the innovative V-CUBE 2™ packaging. Creativity International received over 1,100 entries into the 95 categories available to both professionals & students in Creativity 41 Print & Packaging. They came from 35 countries, 32 U.S. States & 4 Canadian Provinces.

Pentawards is the first on-line global awards competition devoted entirely to packaging design. V-CUBE™ won a silver award in the "Other markets - Entertainment" category for the pioneering V-CUBE 2™ packaging.

Amongst the Pentawards winners this year were some of the most famous brands worldwide like Coca Cola, Jack Daniels, Davidoff and Heineken. The only other toy to have ever won an award prior to that was Pokemon (Silver - 2009).

V-CUBE™ was recognized as the Top Innovative Company in Greece for 2010, by the Greek Department of Research and Technology. Both the innovative nature of our products, based on our groundbreaking patented technology, as well as the prospects for future development were taken into account for this recognition.

Panagiotis Verdes was awarded by OBI for his invention "CUBIC LOGIC TOY" in the context of the "Recent Greek inventions" competition. The ceremony was held in Zappeion and the award was given by the Greek Minister of Development.

A prototype of the V- CUBE™6 was first presented in the International Puzzle Party of 2005 in Helsinki, Finland. This was the first time a fully functional 3-dimensional cubic puzzle of over 5 layers was presented to the public and it was received with great enthusiasm. It was immediately perceived as a real breakthrough in the 3-D cubic puzzle games space and for that it received the 1st honourable mention during the event.
